Barbarian Skills. Battle Rage.
Bloodshed. Has been redesigned:. Deal damage equal to 20% of your recent Critical Hits to enemies within 20 yards every 1 second.
Note: Bloodshed caused performance issues when encountering high enemy density, particularly when combined with Whirlwind, Pain Enhancer, and Gem of Efficacious Toxin. Ground Stomp. Jarring Slam. Added a maximum threshold on the number of health globes that can spawn in a given time. Crusader Skills.

Increase the damage of Blessed Hammer to 640% weapon damage as Holy and increase its area of effect by 20 yards. Note: The extra projectiles created by this rune were causing performance issues in cases with high enemy density. Monk Skills.
Tempest Rush. Flurry. Reduced the maximum number of stacks from 500 to 100. Necromancer Skills. Command Skeletons.
Commanding your Skeletal Warriors will break crowd control effects on them. Skeletal Warriors will no longer die after taking too many hits. Design Philosophy: When we were first designing Command Skeletons, we wanted to capture the feeling of being an undead commander by having skeletons regularly spawn around the Necromancer and charge into battle during combat. It created a cool visual, but as the class evolved through Set bonuses and Legendary powers, it became clear that this visual began to hinder gameplay for some builds. Skeletal Warriors now have the same defenses as all other pets in the game.
Devour. Voracious. Resource cost reduction stacks granted from this rune will now stack and are no longer overridden from multiple casts. Simulacrum.
Added a glow to the skill icon to indicate when Simulacrum is active. Skeletal Mage.
This skill will now display the duration of the oldest mage raised as a buff in addition to the total number of mages active. Design Philosophy: This change is largely to provide transparency to players on the duration of their mage armor. This will be especially useful to players using the Bones of Rathma set. It’s our goal that players will no longer feel compelled to refresh their Skeletal Mage counter when they’re already at max. Bone Armor. Essence cost removed. Can now be cast while moving.
Army of the Dead. Frozen Army.
The pulsing damage from this rune has been spread out. Design Philosophy: This was done to ensure enemies within range are evenly hit and to better align with the visual. This will result in more targets being hit more consistently for the stated weapon damage amount. Necromancer Passives. Fueled By Death.
The movement speed bonus from this passive can now exceed the 25% cap. Life from Death. Added a maximum threshold on the number of health globes that can spawn in a given time. Witch Doctor Skills. Soul Harvest. Adding a stack or refreshing Soul Harvest now refreshes all stacks of Soul Harvest.

Increased difficulty for high-level players to reduce future exploitation of the game system Made monsters tougher. Beefed up monster difficulty in Act V, Nightmare, and Hell difficulties.
This was accomplished by improving monster stats (hp, defense, etc.) and by boosting their AI/behavior in NM and Hell difficulties (that is, by making decisions more often and by simply moving faster). In Nightmare and Hell difficulties monster damages have generally been increased - dramatically in some cases. Reduced the effectiveness of Experience runs, power-leveling, and leeching. Added randomized (especially ranged-attack) monsters to Act V - e.g., Burning Dead, Imps, etc.
Reduced the Experience attached to all Act V monsters in Normal, Nightmare, & Hell difficulties. Reduced the HP of (Act V) Barbarian soldiers in Nightmare and Hell difficulties. Increased the rate of occurrence of Unique monsters in Hell difficulty. Reduced the party member Experience sharing to 0 beyond a maximum distance of about 2 screens from the monster death.
This prevents low-level characters from joining a party and then staying completely out of harm’s way while still getting Experience. Increased the Experience penalty for Clvl 70+ as follows:. Clvl 1 - 69: 100% Experience. Clvl 70 - 99: 95% - 0.49% Experience (approximately exponential decaying) 2. Encouraged players to play in more of the Diablo II areas/locations/levels. Reduced drops from the most-run SuperUnique monsters, ThreshSocket and Pindleskin.
Cut Experience and reduced drops in the Cow level. Randomized the monster populations more thoroughly throughout Act V in Nightmare and Hell difficulties, including the addition of ‘guest monsters’ from other Acts. Blizzard has released patch 1.12 for and along with it is a no-CD update. No longer will you have to insert a CD to play the eight year old RPG, better late than never. Patch 1.12 also resets the game's ladder. Here are more detailed patch notes from: Downloadable Installer Support - If all required '.MPQ' files are installed on the hard drive, the game will no longer require the CD to play.
For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation' and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory. Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of Destruction CD. Mac users will need to copy these music files and rename them to 'Diablo II Music' and 'Diablo II Expansion Music' respectively. Anyone who did not perform a 'Full Installation' will need to re-install from CD again to ultimately play without the CD. In this case, a 'Full Installation' is required, followed by file copy step noted above. Bug Fixes - Fixed an incompatibility between Rosetta and OpenGL mode on Intel Mac.
